I’m a “why” person. I knew I wanted to pursue eating using Macros and had some initial success but I wanted to know how and why macros worked. I had been calculating how many of each macro (proteins, carbs, fat) I needed per day but the game changer for me was when Michelle taught me how and why I should be balancing PER MEAL! What an absolute god send it was to have had my first chat with Michelle just about 7 months. I was diagnosed with Type 2 DM in Feb 2023 and enrolled in a physician directed program for weight loss and management thru my employer. They gave me an eating plan and told me to stick to 30gms of carbs per day. Although I did manage to lose 50 pounds that year, I was absolutely miserable and still did not have a clue why they couldn’t answer my questions as to the Y with the very low carbs. I found Michelle. I get it now. My body needs carbohydrates, fat and protein at every single meal in order for my body to control my blood sugars and to get adequate nutrients .  I am no longer afraid to eat those carbohydrates just remembering that I have to add the appropriate amounts of fat and protein as well. I am in her study group right now for eight weeks. Going slow in the program is absolutely the best way to get through it and to have a good understanding of how these nutrients affect your body as well as maintaining a good blood sugar throughout the day.
